Simple T-Shirt Design IdeasPhrase

Phrase

  • Really let people know what you're thinking by writing your favorite saying on your T-shirt. Select a saying that is popular or really captures your outlook on life. Print out your desired phrase in a large font on a sheet of paper. Place the paper on the underside of the shirt facing outwards. Choose the front or back of the shirt and trace the phrase with a fabric-safe marker. Color in the letters with other colored fabric-safe pens. If the phrase is long, then put half of it on the front and the other half on the back.
  • Symbol

  • Another simple T-shirt idea is to draw a recognizable symbol on the shirt. Different choices include a "peace" sign, the logo of your favorite band or a symbol that has personal meaning for you and your friends. Draw the symbol or print it on a piece of paper, then place the image on the underside of the back or front of the shirt with a fabric-safe pen. If you have the artistic ability or want to put your own spin on the symbol, then try drawing it freehand and coloring to taste.
  • Portrait

  • Sport around an idol or hero by attaching his likeness to your T-shirt. Though many historical and cultural figures have already been affixed as popular T-shirt designs, you can still show some originality and creativity by showcasing a lesser-known personal hero. Print out a black and white image of the desired portrait, and trace the image with a fabric-safe pen. Depending on the statement that you want to make, you can leave the image as an outline, or shade or color it in. Also, you can either print the name under the portrait or leave it blank as a conversation starter.
  • Personal

  • Your T-shirt doesn't necessarily have to have a single or specific message. Letting your creativity fly can let the design have different meanings for different people. Your own art can be your fashion. Take a drawing or painting, place it under the shirt and trace it with your choice of colors. Also, you can use the art as a general reference, creating a new image on the T-shirt. For an added bit of whimsy, sign your name like a true artist under the image.
